Minneapolis Police: Evening Shooting Leaves 1 Injured and 1 Deceased

October 2, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Wednesday evening at 6:26 pm numerous 911 calls reported a shooting on the 2300 block of East Franklin Avenue. While in route to the call, officers were advised that an adult male was on the 2500 block of Riverside suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers stopped and rendered aid while additional officers responded to the East Franklin address.

Upon arrival officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers provided lifesaving medical aid until relieved by paramedics.  Paramedics transported the victim to Hennepin County Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The adult male on Riverside was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a group of people, who appear to know one another, were on the 2300 block of East Franklin when an altercation broke out and it erupted into gunfire.

A homicide investigation has been launched. The Minneapolis Police Department Crime Lab responded to process the scene and collect evidence.  Officers also canvassed the area and spoke with several people.
