Statement regarding Shooting Incident Near Riverside Plaza Bridge
April 21, 2020 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Sunday, April 19, 2020 Officers from the Minneapolis Police Department received numerous 911 calls reference someone needing help in the area of the Riverside Plaza Bridge. Some callers reported someone had been shot.
Officers arrived and located an adult male who was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to an extremity. He was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center via ambulance.
Preliminary information is that two individuals were involved in an altercation when another party shot one of the participants and fled. It appears most people involved knew each other.
The Minneapolis Police Department Crime Lab personnel responded and processed the scene, collecting evidence.
